About Me

I am an artist living in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia. Charcoal, soft pastels, colored pencils, and upcycled textiles are among my specialties, with portraits being a frequent subject matter. Art has been a part of my identity for as long as I can remember. The topics I find most inspiring are travel, culture, mental health, and fashion. My work has significant themes of mental health awareness, diversity, inclusion, love, and acceptance.

I have a background in black-and-white photography that has significantly influenced my drawing style. I have always been drawn to realism and the emotions that faces exhibit, which is why portraits are frequently the subject matter of my work. I am passionate about eliminating waste and often use old unwanted fabric scraps in my work. Combined with my love of fashion, Maximalism is a common theme for me.

I see so much beauty in the ways that people differ, not just in appearance, but in culture, abilities, personalities, experiences, and backgrounds. Having a diversely-abled family has taught me the importance of acceptance and inclusion. I often use decorative multi-colored fabrics in my displays. This is meaningful choice for me – the different fabrics, colors, and textures symbolize diversity. In my world, everybody is included and has something to offer to make life beautiful. Hearts can also be seen around my display, as they symbolize love for all.

I aim to spread love and represent diversity through my art by embracing how people are different in all these ways. I feel that I must be a voice for those who feel misunderstood and underrepresented, bringing everyone together to embrace our uniqueness.
